SeaMonkey 2.29

SeaMonkeySeaMonkey Project has released SeaMonkey 2.29. The new SeaMonkey 2.29 is based on the same codebase as Firefox, supporting modern web technology, HTML5, hardware acceleration and improved JavaScript speed. Unlike Firefox, SeaMonkey is closer to the Netscape Communicator (suite) packaging, with mail (and newsgroup), address book as well as an HTML composer integrated.

SeaMonkey 2.29 is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. SeaMonkey 2.29 can be downloaded from this SeaMonkey 2.29 download webpage. Release notes is available as well.

The new iPhones feature a precision unibody enclosure of anodized aluminum that conforms seamlessly with the shaped glass of the display, resulting in a completely smooth and continuous surface. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are engineered to be the thinnest ever, delivering a bigger display in a design that is still comfortable to hold and easy to use.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus include: the Apple-designed A8 chip with second generation 64-bit; advanced iSight and FaceTime HD cameras; ultrafast wireless technologies (including 802.11ac); and Apple Pay™, an easier way to simply and securely make payments with just the touch of a finger. Both models include iOS 8, featuring a simpler, faster and more intuitive user experience with new Messages and Photos features, QuickType keyboard, a new Health app, Family Sharing and iCloud Drive.

MacBook Pro with Retina gets faster, more RAM, cheaper

MacBook Pro with Retina Display

Apple has released updated version of MacBook Pro with Retina display on both 13- and 15-inches models.

The CPU speeds were improved by 200MHz while some models have price drop. The minimum included RAM is now 8GB (instead of previous 4GB) on 13-inch models and 16GB (instead of previous 8GB) on 15-inch models. The high end MacBook Pro also received price drop.

New models includes:

    13-inch:
  • 2.6 GHz dual-core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB flash storage for US$1299 (+ tax) or A$1599 (incl GST)
  • 2.6 GHz dual-core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB flash storage for US$1499 (+ tax) or A$1849 (incl GST)
  • 2.8 GHz dual-core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB flash storage for US$1799 (+ tax) or A$2199 (incl GST)

    15-inch:
  • 2.2 GHz quad-core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB flash storage for US$1999 (+ tax) or A$2499 (incl GST)
  • 2.5 GHz quad-core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB flash storage for US$2499 (+ tax) or or A$2999 (incl GST)

15-inch MacBook Pros are dual graphic card (GeForce 750M GT with 2GB of GDDR5), 13-inch only includes Iris 5100 integrated GPU.

Satya Nadella is Microsoft's new CEO

Microsoft has announced its new CEO: Satya Nadella, the man in charge of Microsoft's cloud computing services. He is taking on the new role immediately. Company founder Bill Gates is stepping down as Chairman to be replaced by John Thompson.

Satya Nadella joined Microsoft in 1992, he has been working in the company's servers and tools business, as well as developing the cloud system to support Xbox, Bing, Office and other services.
Bill Gates' new job title at Microsoft is Board's Founder and Technology Advisor.
