According to Computerworld, the State of Texas bans Microsoft's flagship product - Windows Vista - for use in the government agencies. The reason is ‘of the many reports of problems with Vista.’
“We are not in any way, shape or form trying to pick on Microsoft, but the problems with this particular [operating] system are known nationwide,” Sen. Juan Hinojosa, vice chairman of the Finance Committee who proposed the ban, “And the XP operating system is working very well.”
This may, just be a budget control that Texas State found that upgrading to Windows Vista is not necessary.
