26 August, 2004Microsoft slammed for misleading Windows vs Linux adSillyDog701 member Greg Mitchell told us Microsoft have been criticised by the UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for running a Windows vs Linux advertisement in a magazine claiming that Linux can be up to 10 times more expensive to run on servers than Microsoft Windows. 22 August, 2004SillyDog701 blessed by GoogleFor a period of time, when you search "Download Netscape 7.2" with Google, SillyDog701's Netscape Browser Archive is the first result! When Netscape 7.2 was just released, SillyDog701 member Don Luchini pointed out that the UFAQ.org was clearly mentioned in Netscape's Browser Central (homepage). SillyDog701 is, however, not mentioned.

14 August, 2004Windows XP SP2 woesAccording to this Windows XP Service Pack 2: Install With Care by CRN and SP2 kills ZoneAlarm Pro 5.1 reported by Don Luchini, Windows XP SP2 is not that good to have, yet. The smoke around the campfire, though, is that SP2 will wreak havoc on many security and firewall software utilities, forcing a redesign of antivirus suites, e-mail clients and firewalls. If you have any problems with Windows XP SP2, SillyDog701 would like to hear your report.
