I can put my Netscape clock back on the wall???

Pull out my Netscape mouse pad, use my Netscape coffee mugs, and finally wear the embroidered polo shirt I bought from them a few years back????

The Netscape petition has over 2000 signatures at present, and it appears people can still sign it today.

To commemorate the news about Netscape's revival, I created this graphic . . .

Image

(Before anyone mentions, the lettering is meant to look a little dishevelled!)
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1 (DJGM-i.net)
SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

Now I will be forced to buy a new cd...
I bought the last Netscape version in the opinion it would be the last version ever. A bit like a collectors item (although it asume it won't make me rich).

Eitherway, I'm hoping Netscape 4.x remains consigned to internet history.

Then How about older systems that can not run Mozilla or Netscape 6/7?
Internet Explorer is the best browser for those things then. Right? Wrong?

Not necessarily. I recently installed K-Meleon, to replace IE on an old PC that
has only 32MB of RAM, and a Pentium 133Mhz CPU. So far, it runs quite well.

(In case you may have forgotten, K-Meleon uses the Gecko browser engine.)

We are talking about new Netscape 7.x coming, nothing to do with Communicator.

I generally say to anyone with less than a 233mhz processor - Upgrade! If not, K-Meleon is a great browser.

if u can run IE 6 sp1 smoothly, u can probably run NS 7 smoothly.

Let's get this back on topic. This isn't about versions of MSIE, past or present, nor is it about
any other browser. It's about the forthcoming release of a new Netscape browser upgrade.

So, what was that about waiting until April 2nd, as mentioned by ChrisI earlier . . . ?

Jay Garcia posted this thread this a.m. with an added comment from Holger:
snews://secnews.netscape.com:563/c4hfuc$31d10@ripley.netscape.com

"There will be a new version of the Netscape browser coming early
summer". This from Anne Bentley, Vice President of Communications,
AmericaOnline.

I don't know any more than that, you're on your own to pursue this ..

This is NOT an April Fool joke !!
