'Mighty Bolt' protection

Postby redhotjoe » Fri 20 Feb, 2004 4:52 am

I have been offered a P4 motherboards with the 'Mighty Bolt' protection, which would have to have the bios chip re flashed or changed. Could anyone explane if this is possible, and at what cost if the replacement option was taken??
Thanks

If the bios has a password, just clear the CMOS.

Reply for Might Bolt

Postby redhotjoe » Sat 12 Jun, 2004 5:02 am

I purchased this board following my last query. The seller explained that the 'Mighty Bolt' was enabled, and a BIOS flash would be need or a new bios chip. Following the privious advise, I cleared the CMOS after removeing the battery by using the J5 Jumper, I have entered the bios and set the Might bolt to 'disable' in the bios, this did not allow me access to boot up. I then tried to re flash the ROM but cannot get pasted the screen requesting the 'Please insert your IC key card to approve your authority' Can any one help please

Thanks
