"Netscape exe has experienced a problem and needs to close"

Anyone know why I keep getting this error message when I try to run Netscape?

I also get the same type of error message a lot, only it says that "istsvc.exe" needs to close...?

Welcome to the Forum, Merrick!

First, read this article from Symantec's web site: Adware.Istbar

After you resolve this issue, perhaps this will also resolve the Netscape error as well. If not, let us know.

BTW, which Version of Netscape are you running?

I'm using version 8.0. and I'm still getting the error and it's still shutting down!

This may take forever! 8.0.3.3 is current, and quite good to me, but I don't like using the IE mode. So, which NS8? Are you using it in IE mode? If you have a reasonably recent version, like mine. Uninstall, and then reinstall, doing a clean install, remove the profile, which, can be imported from a variety of programs. If you have an older 8.x, do the uninstalling, but download a 8.0.3.3 first.
Is Internet Explorer working ok. It may behave oddly.
Also, you said:

Did you do anything that Ramona suggested?
