jpChris,
I assume that you have an account called "abc" @ "abc.com" indicateing Your TRUE account information and Not what you posted VERBATIM ?
i.e
mailbox://< username >@< servername >/Unsent%20Messages < username > and < servername > as they appear on "Edit | Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings | < account > | Server
If this is true, that is the
correct entry to create an unsent folder in that account.
As far a I know, you can have only one active "Unsent Messages" folder. By default it wwill be in "local folders" . If you create an additional folder it is placed where you indicate. It appears that this is what has been done.(it is displayed WHEN you activate it by selecting "Send Later".
All "Send Later" messages are placed in that folder. The Unsent folder in "Local Folders" is not deleted from there unless you do so through a File Management program. It just is not used.
You can not Move, copy, drag and drop messages to the unsent folder.
The only legitimate way you can get messages to the "Unsent" folder is via the
Send Later button when offline or via "File|dropdown menu|Send later| from within the Compose window (control+shift+return) You can not delete the folder via the UI.
The primary difference between "Drafts" and "Unsent Messages":
Consider DRAFTS as a work in progress. When you Edit a Draft and "Send" it assumes the properties in effect for that account at the time of sending.
On the other hand, Unsent Messages are COMPLETED messages that are ready to be sent. They will have the properties in effect at the time the were composed and are independent of the account settings at time of sending.
e.g.
Go offline.
set send properties for the account to "convert to plain text"
set "return receipt requested"
compose message to different address in HTML.
select "send later"
Reset properties to "send both plain and HTML"
Deselect "return receipt request"
compose message to different address in HTML.
Select "send later"
In Mozilla when you go online, there is auto dialogue window asking if you wish to send Unsent Messages.
Go Online and
select to send "Unsent Messages" and they will be sent.
or you can select the "unsent message" folder, right click and select "send"
Each will be received with the properties in effect when composed. NOT when sent.
Sent copies will be placed in the correct folder for the account that you were in when you composed them.
First message will be in Plain text with Return Receipt request, Second
will be HTML No request.
Unsent message folder is treated the same as any other folder. When a message is marked for NO DISPLAY (moved, sent etc) the msf file is adjusted accordingly. but the file is still there until you compact the folder.
At least this is how I think it work.
