I am using Mozilla 1.7 which I thought would allow me to view .wmv files. I have one sent to me via email but I cannot view it. Do I need to install a particular plug-in to view this type of file? Thanks.

I would guess that this is a problem with either a firewall or an antivirus program. If you are using either of these (I would hope you are), you can always download the file to some other spot on your hard drive and run it from there.
