I may have to give, at least, a pound of rice. That's a worthwhile endeavor.
But what does 1/2 billion mean? Since Firefox, first, came out? How many individuals use it?
I have two difference versions of Firefox on my computer, and may be three. So, we have three users? And, how many, still, have Firefox.
Just an additional observation. If I uninstall any of my Firefox, and 2.0.0.12 is still my default browser, and select to comment on why I uninstalled it, Internet Explorer will open.
I, even, commented on this. I could not believe that they would hard code such a thing.

Well it is an exception browser, and it's in a sense leading a revolution.

Fulvio makes a valid point.

0.5 billion downloads is fantastic. But out of this 0.5 billion, how many actually use it?

It would be great to see actual usage statistics somewhere. :)

"It would be great to see actual usage statistics somewhere."

This BBC News article says: "Firefox is currently the second most popular browser, although its 12% share is dwarfed by that of Microsoft's Internet Explorer." (5th paragraph from the bottom)

I've downloaded Firefox at least 20 times, for various versions/releases. Fulvio certainly can beat that.

I entirely agree. I've probably downloaded Firefox a dozen or more times myself so that number while interesting is misleading.
