1.4 trunk frozen and other fun stuff

Postby Fulvio » Thu 24 Apr, 2003 11:38 pm

I learned from Mozillazine that the 1.4 trunk has been frozen, meaning that 1.4b should be out soon, and development will switch more toward the bird.
I don't like Firebird a bit.
And, I got some other strange behavior, while trying to download either bird.
Sorry. I am tired, but there is truth to what I stated.

I was able to download from Netscape. The problem was limited to Phoenix.
Most interesting is the fact that the download of Thunderbird got smaller, the installation got bigger. I can't believe that Moz1.4b, is about the same size as Phoenix, over 18MB, while Thunderbird is a whopping 25MB. Adding the profiles, Moz1.4b is less than 24MB, while Phoenix is about 20.
All three programs are not installed. I work out of the .exe file.

Well, you'll have to wait a little while longer for 1.4, but 1.3.1 is being tested.

I have no complaint with any Mozilla. I was just musing on the size of the Firebird/Thunderbird combination, but being so early itc should expected. Thunderbird is at least working.
