You have both installed on a single partition? I will give TWO answers.

The proper answer, format your partition, start from scratch - and do it properly, only one OS per partition, always start with Windows 9x/Me first, then any NT based OSs after.

The other answer: Say you have Win2k installed in C:\WINNT and WinXP installed in C:\WINDOWS on the same partition, boot into Windows XP, and TRASH the WINNT directory. Then edit your boot.ini file and remove the option to boot into Windows 2000 (a single text line, easy to find). You have to enable viewing hidden files to do this. Also take off read-only on the file temporarily.

Please note, that neither I - nor anyone else at the SillyDog 701 forum can be accountable for any data loss you suffer by trying the second option, it SHOULD work, but may not. Use this out of your own free will.

You really want to delete Windows 2000Pro and leave XP, but don't want to re-install XP?

Follow Mandrake's second method. Backup recommended.

Well, I know nothing about your computer. You could check out http://www.winguides.com/tweak/, it has some great tweaks for Windows,

well ppl here i m again.. just to tell u that. i had simply deleted winnt folder while i was in XP. So far it has been more than a week but nothing unusual happened. So we can somehow say that simply delete one OS while running the 2nd one.

Madrake, thx for the site u mention. I will look for good things outta it.
