30-inch wide aspect LCD monitors, HP joins Apple and Dell

News from PC World, HP has announced 30-inch LCD monitor. This will be the 3rd 30-inch LCD monitor on the market after Apple and Dell.

Same as Apple's 30-inch Cinema HD Display and Dell's UltraSharp 3007WFP, the HP 30-inch wide aspect LCD requires DIV-D dual link port, and 2560 by 1600 native resolution. (Enough to display HD content without scaling.)

If you've been torn between Apple's 30-inch Cinema HD Display and Dell's UltraSharp 3007WFP, your decision isn't getting any easier with HP's upcoming 30-inch wide-screen. HP just announced the LP3065, a business display specced out with an unusually wide 92% color gamut. HP attributes the LP3065's color gamut to a new CCFL backlight.

Like its Dell and Apple rivals, the LP3065 will require a DVI-D dual link graphics card supporting 2560 by 1600 resolution. In keeping with its counterparts, it won't offer any of the additional inputs--component, composite, S-Video--sometimes found on smaller monitors. However, it will have 3 DVI inputs and HDCP content protection.

Departing from the usual black-and-silver bezel, HP will offer this 30-incher dressed completely in black, with no metallic accents will distract attention from the screen. Even the LED will go off after 15 seconds.

The LP 3065 will ship November 1 at a projected price of $1999.
