4.20 internal queueing error

Postby yankee1620 » Sun 11 Nov, 2007 8:23 am

I keep getting this popup when sending an email. When I click send again, the message gets sent. Does anyone know what
4.20 internal queueing error means and what to do about it?

As I have never seen that error, you should try to do a search:
4.20 internal queuing error
. I did that, and it made no sense to me. It may make more sense to you.

The error is coming from Comcast's mail server, it is not an issue with SeaMonkey. I saw those errors last week.

On sending the e-mail a second time, it went through fine.

BTW, SeaMonkey is now up to version 1.1.6, as versions since 1.1.3 addressed security issues, you might want to consider installing it (download 1.1.6, uninstall 1.1.3 then install 1.1.6).

Thanks...I had no idea what it was...

I have given up on updating Seamonkey because I lost tons of mail every time I upgraded and I have *never been able to get any of it back. I have spent days trying but was never successful.
It was not a problem with Netscape because I could always install the upgrade on top of the version I already had, or it would automatically import the profiles before I uninstalled...I just don't want to lose any more email...some of what I lost was very important to me and I don't want to lose even more....I am just not knowledgeable enough to fix it and I don't want another stroke...LOL
Also, I see by the messages on the forum that people seem to be having a lot of problems with the new Seamonkey...

A lot of people have problems with new versions, because they install on top of the previous version. This process was used with NS4.x, but not recommended with NS5/7, Mozilla and Seamonkey. I, always, uninstall the previous version, and then install the new one. The Profile where the mail is located is left untouched by uninstalling. I, never, had a problem doing things this way, and there is no reason why there should be any problem. Of course, there is always a risk if mail from the past century is still left in the the Inbox. Large files (over 1 GB Inbox, e.g) do not do well.
I had a problem with an older version of SM, but I corrected that problem, by creating a new profile.

I don't have a huge amount of mail in my inbox or in the folders but what I have is important to me...I upgraded Seamonkey twice and I uninstalled the old one before installing the new one but I have never been able to get my mail back...I tried for hours and days but all I ever did was mess up the new seamonkey and lost the mail anyway... :?

Unless you have a dedicated profile, like I do, the "default" profile should open. That's the same profile which may have been used as far back as NS7.x or early Mozillas.
In WinXP the path would be:C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\ or do you have more than one profile?
But, if you looked in that location, and not found your mail, or the the Local Directory pointed to the right folder, I have no idea.
It is next to impossible to give advice when it is possible that things are not being done quite the same way as I do.

I have two profiles so my default profile does not have any mail in it. I have backup copies of both profiles but I still can't seem to get the mail when I upgrade Seamonkey.

I don't understand what you mean. I think that you are talking about the default profile in Mail. I mean a profile for the entire program. One profile is clled default, while tha other can be any name you like. Going back to what I said before do you have a profile with
C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\
or also another like C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default1\ or are the defaults in xxxx.slt\Mail\accountname 1 and 2?

...I just got an internal queuing error! It's 8:38 Eastern time.

P.S. I'm at least grateful to know it's not my computer or my Entourage...thanks for that...

Other Comcast customers are still reporting this problem this morning, so I guess it has not yet been fixed.

I have not seen it yet this morning, though.
