I am amazed this hasn't been posted here yet but anyway...

According to ThinkSecret.com Apple are going to release a 60GB photo iPod in time for Christmas! :o

I personally wouldn't find it too easy to view photos on a 2-inch screen. If you want photos, you're better off buying a Palm Tungsten T3 and a 2GB expansion card.

...But, back on the subject.
It's likely that Apple may be trying to compete with the release of Media Center 2005, which now runs on portable devices. It sounds like a great idea, minus a few design flaws like a very small screen. Plus, Apple never released an SDK for the iPod, so nobody besides Apple has developed software for it, whereas you can run most Windows applications on Media Center. I don't mean to denounce the iPod at all, but there are better portable image viewers out there, and all the hard drives in my house don't add up to 60GB yet.
