Presently, I am using IE 6, Win 98 Pentium 200MHZ I think, and 128 RAM I have 62% free. I can make more too. Have some junk I can remove.
I am on CABLE.
In my Win application data folder, there is a Mozilla folder and it had my old email addy, [I had to change my old email addy because of over 100 Spam emails daily].
I changed it in the Mozilla file also, (I think Moz is for email) anyway, I put my new addy there instead of the old one. It seems to have stayed. There are a few other files in there too.
I just want to know should I remove this folder. I know I shouldn't fool in Windows, but when I downloaded NS7.02 in Mar/03 it did have an email which didn't work with my ISP, one I had been using in the newsgroups and I was unable to get my email. It wasn't either of the one's I mentioned above.
I really want to use Netscape, but it will be a pain if I have to use Outlook Express, to get my email, or
my Hotmail account. By the way after all these years, I keep hearing you mention WEB mail. I have hotmail, Yahoo, my ISP, and My Netscape email accounts. Which one is Webmail, if any~ please?? lol
I was in Ramona's Solutions, what a choice, I don't know which one to use.
Streamline looks easy enough, does anyone know what I need to use? I like to fiddle in Paint Shop Pro.
So if I can't get my email or PSP, well I will forget about it and perhaps download NS4.80
TIA

Lorraine,
with 128 MB and about 200 Mhz processor, you should be able to do ok, although you could use a bit available RAM. I start at 90%, but I can use up MB very quickly. But, there is no problem there, at this point.
I am confused by what you say about your "addies" (accounts). Where did you make the changes? If you want to set up your mail in 7.02, you have to do it from the Mail and News Account in Netscape Mail. You can remove old accounts, which takes them out of sight, but not off the HD.
Now one, often, missed fact is that only one SMTP is set up. If you change accounts, you have to change that. But, I think I know what is your problem. Not all mail is created equal, but I think, all Mail clients will handle POP3 accounts as well as IMAPs. But then there are propriatary accounts such a MSN, AOL, and I sure some other accounts, which require their own software to be used. As a rule of thumb, anything which is outside of the POP3/IMAP categories, if it works in OE, will not work in Netscape Mail.
All three accounts may be webmail, webmail is mail that one can get, mainly, from the website. Hotmail, being a Microsoft product, you can get through a Microsoft Mail Client. Yahoo depends on whether you pay for it or not. If you pay it should be a POP3, if you do not, it is strictly webmail. Since AOL owns Netscape, you can set up Netscape Webmail in Netscape Mail, and AOL mail, if you have an AOL account, as special IMAPs
To summarize:you cannot get Hotmail in Netscape Mail. You may be able to set up Yahoo mail, if you pay for it, and you should be able to get Netscape Webmail, as IMAPs through the Netscape IM.
My life was made easier by the fact that my Hotmail accounts was totally taken over by spam, and when I tried to sign up later to set up another account, I would have had to sign up for something unrelated.
My Netscape Webmail in Netscape Mail works when it feels like, and often causes lockups on exit, but having AOL, my wife and I set up the accounts in Netscape.
And, remember that OE is not the only option, out there. I like Eudora and Calypso mails, and I use them, at times.
So, it depends on what you want to do., and how it works best for you.
If you do not want to bother with Netscape Mail, there is the Sillydog Standalone, Streamline, and other build from DJGM and profman are also good, and allow you to set up mail. Any of these builds are available, without much in a way of plugins. If you had the program installed before Netscape 7.02, you may need to get, at least, the .dll files which link you to the programs.
As for PSP Pro, you should have no problem. I visited the jasc.com website, and they give some tips about Netscape 6, which may not be applicable to NS7.
