A Few shots from Hawaii

Postby James » Thu 15 Oct, 2009 10:39 am

My wife and I were recently in Maui. Here's a few shots:

View from our room. Molokai is in the distance.

I trained my camera down from the tenth floor (using a zoom to frame and bring in closer).

We went to the Iao Needle and the Japanese Gardens below it.

Great surfing near Paia:

The road to Hana has over 680 hairpin turns and 190 one-lane bridges!

Very nice James. Looks absolutely beautiful.

Could you send me the full version of the lawn chair picture? That would make an awesome wallpaper.

Nice photos James. I am sure that you had a good time there.

I like the second photo best.

It's funny, Antony, but most people seem to like it best as well. Maybe I should try and be more artsy from now on? Anyway, we had a very good time and most of my pictures were pretty much tourist-type grab shots. Thanks.

From my photography courses, I guess I can provide some reasons why (many) people would like that shot generally.

It's sort of pattern, but not exactly symmetric or carefully lined up.
Also, other photos are a bit more general (not saying they are bad).

It was, Mandrake, until my wife fell from the airport shuttle. She twisted her knee quite badly. Today I'm taking her for MRI. Hopefully she did not tear her lateral meniscus.

Okay, I PM'ed you my email.

My best wishes to you and your wife. Hope everything goes will with her MRI. Tell her to do her best not to fall asleep, I always do and then it takes longer because I move around a lot in my sleep.
