About me

Postby Lorraine » Tue 22 Nov, 2005 12:00 am

I don't know how to post images or photos in here.
So If you want to know about me, check this site which I made a long time ago in 1997 -98 with Netscape 4.0
or perhaps I started it with Netscape 3.0 I;m not sure.

I made it in a chat room that showed pictures and had a place to make webpages. So I made several, not all are in the site below, and someone FTP'd it for me to geocities and helped set it up. Then the person decided to do mouseover with handwritten text which I didn't like as previously this person had made nice flower buttons which I liked. We had agreed to be honest with each other on what I liked or what s/he didn't. I said, "I don't like it" and then s/he removed most of my site.
I never heard from this person again.

So I had to fix it myself, stayed up until 4:00AM the first night and late other nights too, putting html back in.
So that is why I am keeping the site, not because it is great, but because I did so much work in it.

On my fractals page I made a banner thingy, I don't know what it's called, it went around and around across the page saying Alsation's Fractals. It's still there but doesn't work. I guess they don't allow scripts anymore.
I don't remember the scripts either.

I also did a webpage at :

http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Square/6412

which I made in one night with Netscape Composer in '98 also. I had fun doing that one....nothing great either.

My ripple applet stopped functioning a few months ago and so the other day I removed it. Just a Jonathanart image is on the second page now.

I had put the Lake Class applet there as I made it one night and it worked and I didn't have a site for it so I made an extra page and put it in Redginger's World.

Interesting, Lorraine. The first little website I made was also made using Netscape's composer and I believe it was on a geocities server. It's long gone, though.

I enjoyed the pictures of Sheba. Thanks for sharing.

I meant to put it in The Sillydog701 Members Gallery....
there's a thread a few posts down...
maybe someone can move it.
I didn't want to be all by myself.lol

thanks James......I started making the webpages in 1997 but I made several. I was learning.
It was fun in those days in that chat room.

Anyway, I wrote my own html. lol
I'm not removing my site for anyone! lol
I put too many hours in Alsation's World

I got into my site the other day, I had tried before and couldn't but finally remember how.....lol

I can't remember how to make another page now and I 've made several in geocities....
memory isn't as good as it used to be, I guess.

I see you're using SeaMonkey.
I think I will wait awhile before trying it.
I will try to get into the hang of Moz 1.7.1.2 first again.
It's been awhile....

Thanks Edward, Well, they will be showing them as antiques pretty soon, I liked good old netscape. :) Happy you liked them !

I'm using the official 1.0 release of SeaMonkey at this time, I'm waiting for a bug in the nightly builds to be fixed, before I start using the nightlies again. It was fixed, then it reappeared yesterday.

Happily using my slower computer (Linux-only) again after finding a Linux distribution that works reasonably well on it.
