about MyWebpages free personal home pages from Netscape

Postby lookatdesktop » Wed 16 Aug, 2006 12:43 pm

I have created a free Web Page offered by Netscape on the following URL:
http://mywebpage.netscape.com/

It takes forever to upload one file at a time and it took me several hours to delete all 260 files from My Webpages because I decided to delete my web site. But on the main page no link to cancel a MyWebpages account seems to exist or I'm simply not finding it.

I want to know who on Earth to contact to eliminate My Webpage, speifically my web site uner this heading, so I can stop using the free service. It's time for me to move on with a more advanced pay per month web site service. With the new service I can remain private so ARIN WHOIS will not give out my home address to the entire world and furthermore, allow me to upload multiple files at once and delete an entire cache of files on the fly.

Not that I didn't get good use out of the free service Netscape offers, It's just that well, you try it out and see for yourself. There are more advanced web site services that offer both a free version and several levels of pay services to let you build a more detailed and comprehensive personal home page, that's all.

What do you know and let me know about who to contact with Netscape thanks;.l

Try that. Also, the link which you gave says that they have technical difficulties. In addition there is a newsgroup for MySpace, where they may have more info.
I, never, made use of MySpace, but everything points to problems due to the fact that AOL is making changes. There is no such thing as Netscape, any more, as AOL owns Netscape, and god knows what they are going to do with it.

You may be interested to know that on the page the original poster quoted, the paragraph referencing "technical difficulties", has been there for the past three years...
