Absolute poker vs Sea Monkey

Postby LARRYB » Fri 02 May, 2008 4:21 pm

I just had the strangest thing happen while I was playing Absolute poker.
When I tried to access my account to see how much money I had I got a Alert screen tellling me that Sea Monkey was detected as running on my computer and was advised to close Sea Monkey and uninstall seamonkey. When I closed the alert box another one came up asking me if I wanted to uninstall seamonkey, YES/NO.

I wasnt sure what was causing this alert message so I closed the boxes and again tried to access another account and this time only the uninstall box came up. Sea Monkey was closed automaticly when I exited Absolute poker.

Any Ideas???

I have no idea, but I sent an e-mail to the absolutepoker.com people ( I hope that it is the correct site, since you did not provide it).
I had said before that some website do not like Seamonkey, mainly because they are ignorant.

I e-mailed them, and quote part of your e-mail (no name mentioned). I hope that they will have some answer.

Larry, I got a reply from absolutepoker support.
Thank you for contacting us.

We will be glad to assist you with this technical issue.

This could be caused by a security setting on Seamonkey, since our application use Internet Explorer as the default browser and we guess that Seamonkey is the default on your system.

Try to set IE as your default browser to determinate if this is the cause of this inconvenience.

If you need any further assistance, do not hesitate to contact us back. We will be glad to assist you.

Sincerely,

Christopher

What is not being said is that they may reject SM. Let me know if the site works with IW.
Another way would be to use IE Tab, if you have it.
I had IE Tab in 1.1.8, which I uninstalled, and then installed 1.1.9, which picked up the profile in which I had the add-on.
