Access to websites denied

Postby Fulvio » Wed 21 Sep, 2005 9:27 pm

After struggling with the weather extentions, and, finally getting 1-click weather, I am finding that ufaq.or does not let me in:
This server does not accept known web page mining tools like Mozilla.*NEWT. powered whit Protector System

And, I get 403 forbidden at windowsbbs. I guess that it may be the 1-click weather. All this is infuriating. The heck to 1.0.7! Who needs it? !.0.6 with no IDN worked fine. Before it is said and done, it may take me as long with this than with iTunes5.

Take the NEWT out of your UserAgent

I think that I understand the problem, and, why it went away after restarting the program. I am using that silly Firesomething extention, which has combinations of two items, one is a description, and the other is an animal. These are randomly created, and may not reoccur for ages. I can see that I had a "Junglenwt", while I have now: "Powersparrow". Fortunately, the items can be easily deleted, so there will be no "Return of the Newt"
Gee, one cannot even have some harmless fun! These sniffers are so dumb!
Thanks for the tip.

See! You were blaming Fx1.0.7 and it was your own silliness :P

It was very convenient to blame FF1.0.7. I ran in a lot of problems, which were were not rectified. I just installed Moz1.7.12, and each extention was
still there.
So, it was, probably, 1.0.7's fault. 8-)

I am not yet convinced. Even if not the cause, that darned 1.0.7 has given me more trouble than any software save iTunes5.
I actually solved the iTunes problem, but have not gotten the extention business under control, in FF1.0.7.

You have another thread going on the Fx1.0.7 extension problems? This one is titled "Access to websites denied" and appears to be resolved, right? Or not?

This one is resolved. I was just kidding. May be you did not get it, and you wanted to get confirmation. Thread closed as far as I care.
