accessing imported email from IE

Postby saheart » Wed 07 Jun, 2006 10:30 am

I followed the process to import mail from Outlook Express as well as address book. NOW, I need to know how to access it. I am totally stumped! I truely am not too computer savvy and it took me about a week and a half to finally get the Netscape 7.2 onto my computer. IE is a piece of garbage on my PC. Any and all HELP is so appreciated!!!!!!!! :?

You mention accessing e-mail from IE, but you imported mail info into Outlook Express. IE and OE are two standalone programs, and they have to be treated that way. Any reason why you did what you did? I don't understand what you were trying to do.
Just for your information, Mozilla Firefox1.5.0.4 is equivalent to IE, as a browser, and Mozilla Thunderbird1.5.0.4 is equivalent to Outlook Express for mail. You can import your settings to Firefox, as you set it up. The same is true for Thunderbird for Mail, although I always set up my account first, and then copy/pasted the mail folders.

I reread your post, and I think that I understand what you are saying. You had OE mail, and imported your mail into Netscape7.2. Am I correct? Did you set up your account in NS7.2 mail?
If you are looking for your mail imported from OE, it is, probably, in the Local Folders, as a folder of Imported fromm OE folder, and subfolders.
If you find it there you can move the folder to your mail account, so that it is more readily available.
Confirm what you see.

Am able to get mail through 7.2

Postby saheart » Wed 07 Jun, 2006 1:33 pm

I went to search for messages in :Inbox on Local Folders-clicked on it, then Local Folders, then Outlook Express Mail, then Inbox with subfolders checked the first time and unchecked the second time, then search but nothing. Don't know what I am doing wrong. It did show that the messages had been imported when I followed the instructions. Just can't seem to access them.
Thank you for your HELP

I don't have NS7.2, but I have the more up to date Seamonkey1.0.2, which is similar tp 7.2, also.
I happen to have OE, but I have not looked it for months, so I try to repeat what you should have been done. I selected in SM mail, then Tools|Import|Mail, and selected Outlook Express. It diid not dtell me what it was doing, but I was done in two seconds. I selected Local Folders (not Inbox) and I had a bunch of new folders under Outlook Express mail. The inbox had only 16 messages, and all folders added up to 1MB max, thus the two sec. transfer. But, you should be able to get the same results.
It, definitely, works in Seamonkey.
