I assume you removed the account from within Netscape's Mail&NG Account Settings window using the Remove Account button? Or, something happened and you recreated your mail account, and the Netscape Inbox, Sent and other mailboxes are now empty?
Don't worry. Neither action removes the actual mail files from your hard drive, which are normally stored (In WinXP) in the C:\Documents&Settings\"user"\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\"profilename"\xxxxxxxxSLT\Mail\"mail.server.folder".
(In WinXP you need to set the Folder Options View settings to show hidden files and folders because the Application Data folder is hidden). The actual "mail.server.folder" name might be something like pop.MyISP.com, or if you have multiple accounts for the same ISP (or have removed and recreated the accounts), you might have Mail folders named pop.MyISP.com, pop.MyISP-1.com, pop.MyISP-2.com etc.
Here's what you need to do:
If you have a backup copy of the prefs.js file (located in the profile's .SLT folder), restore the backup and you'll be back in business. If you have no prefs.js backup:
Open the Netscape Mail, Mail&Newsgroup Account Settings window and use the Add Account button to recreate the account, if you haven't already done so. Then check in the server settings, Local Directory field. The end of the folder path will show a folder name that is holding your (now empty) mail files. It will now be something like pop.MyISP-1.com if you only had a single mail account folder before. (Netscape appends a -1 or -2 or -3 to the folder name when it creates a new account folder, each time you recreate an account with the same mail server name).
Just use the Browse button to switch from the pop.MyISP-x.com folder back to the earlier pop.MyISP.com folder (for example, if you currently show pop.MyISP-1.com then switch to to pop.MyISP.com) and restart Netscape. You should have your mail back.
