Why are people so concerned with the activation.dll file and why do they seek to remove it?

They don't realise how important the Netscape registration/activation
component is. They therefore find it an annoyance, so much so, they
seek to circumvent it, and also search to out and delete that dll file.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

Well, I just use Mozilla which doesn't have it anyway.

But really, why would you give your personal info to a company controlled by AOL?

It's a bit like trusting a convicted car thief to sell you a car.
