Add senders address

Postby Lorraine » Thu 22 May, 2003 10:11 pm

Where is the add senders address please?

I am unable to find anything about it. I had it in NS 4.79 but can't find it
here. Did they remove it?
thanks

Could you tell us what you want to do? Do you want to add more than one address?

I assume you are using Netscape 6/7.

The sender address is available in your Mail Composer window, next to From: you will see a list.

To create sender's address, you need to create extra mail account (not profile). Each Netscape profile account can have multiple mail account.

From Mail's window, Edit | Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings, each account will enable you to specify different identity (name, email address, return address, organisation)

All I want to do is to be able to add a senders address when I receiive an email from them, if I don't have them in my address book.

In NS4.79 it just said, "add sender to address book" or something like that when I clicked on it, I think in Message at the top of the email page.

I know how to find a sender, and how to write one in the address book, but I don't know where to just click on an incoming email to add a sender's address.

Thank you both
-Lorraine

In the incoming mail,
Either simple click or context click(*) the sender's name or his/her email address in the incoming Mail windos, select Add to Address Book.

(*)context click is commonly known as right click.

It's alright, don't bother about the former question, I found the place to add a senders address from an incoming email.
It's not a place one would think to look in, however it is a good place once you know where to look :-)
Thanks,
-Lorraine

I know that one can do things in more than one way, which is confusing, but could you tell me where you were able to add a specific address?
The only difference between 4.x and 7.x is that 4.x will bring up the address card, when the address is clicked, while 7.x gives a number of choices, including adding to the address book, and then you select the card. It adds an extra step, but it is there. Context-click does the same thing in NS7.x.

I just click on File|New|Address book card and a New Card Window pops up and I fill in what is required.
Info goes in the Personal Address Book.

Only thing is that I have my print set larger and the window pops up too large to click o.k. I can't see the bottom of the info card. So I have to close all the I guess you call them the tool bars, I just leave the File bar, push the task bar at the bottom until I can't see it and then I click O.K.

I don't use this option very often. I try to wait until I receive a message!
I'm sure there is another easier way. I like the Add sender way tho' from the email address.

Lorraine,
I do it this way: with message open, I click on the From: address. In 4.7 the card come right up, while in 7.02, there are four option, one of which is to save to address book, and the card box comes up.
And, you are correct, the box go too far down, so I click and hold the top line, which may be gray, but turns blue, when you do it. The blue line is found in all cases, and it is used precisely for cases like this. I may have a different problem from yours, because I have reversed the location of the Windows toolbars, so that the Start button is at the bottom left.
