An OS X Composer equivalent to Netscape 4.7 ??

Postby tatesha » Tue 18 Jul, 2006 7:35 am

Hi !

I started creating web pages with Netscape Navigator Gold and SimpleText on a 68k Mac, and was eventually forced to recreate/upgrade them using Netscape Composer 4.7.

And I guess it is that time again, however I don't know what "composer" to use anymore.

I downloaded Netscape 7.2 for my HP pavilion when it 1st came out, but it kept locking up on me and I really wasn't all that impressed with it.

I thought it was because I wasn't on my mac, but have learned that it behaves exactly the same way on my beige G3 running OS X 10.2.8. So I am at a loss !

I've tried Nvu and Macromedia's Dreamweaver 3.
But I really just want a basic FREE WYSIWYG composer, that is compatible w/ FireFox. Anyone have any suggestions !?

I'd really appreciate it !!

I think you should try SeaMonkey.

The Composer in SeaMonkey is similar to Netscape's one.

WHOA thanks Antony !

It is almost identical to Nestcape Composer 4.7... except that it can justify text !!

I'm delighted !!

I am glad that SeaMonkey works for you. Don't forget to set up the Publishing Site Settings (under Edit).
