I've noticed the level of activity here on the SillyDog 701 forum to have fallen significantly over the past few months. Antony, do you have any statistics that might show participation levels for the past few years versus this year? Do you also have statistics that might show April, May, June , July and August levels of participation for 2011 versus 2012? What do you attribute to the dramatic fall in activity here on the forum? I'm guessing but it seems to me that this is about as quiet as I've ever seen the forum over the many years I've been a member. I hope things improve.

I haven't been paying attentions to statics for quite a while. However, as generally speaking, many forums are getting quiet, as well as many blog etc. The trend is moving to something more interactive and more social I guess, something like Twitter or Facebook.

As for the quietness of this forum, well, this forum is not optimised for tablet nor smart phone devices. I fully understand that certain member might loathe those devices due to the market of those devices being dominated by a non-Redmond company (however, the love/hate situation will change once the Redmond company releases its killing device). Perhaps, there are more interesting iOS games that people like to spend time on playing those (instead of logging into the forums), or wants instant updates such as Twitter or Facebook, or perhaps people like Don is watching the London 2012 game on super-high definition TV cheering for American's big win.
