It looks like they totally copied the UI of that other program, and now they're getting what they deserve.

No, I disagree. iTunes was built upon an application called SoundJam. Apple acuired the
technology, and rebranded it as iTunes. Therefore, the developers of SoundJam should
be ones on the receiving end of this lawsuit. The complainants are going after Apple
just because they're the BIG company that develops the product as it is now.
So, (IMO) Apple are netting something that ideally, they don't deserve.

SoundJam and it's developers were acquired by Apple, there is nothing left of SoundJam to sue for patent infringment.
They're probably just suing Apple in the hopes getting a huge settlement in the range of $100 million or more.
