Apple Mobile Service Support for Windows

I am a bit puzzled by the fact that "Apple Mobile Service Support" occurs twice in my PC Add/Remove. There is a v.2.1.2.7 and 2.6.0.32. The earlier version cannot be found, nor removed. Both items take nearly 40 MB of disc space. I was never asked if I wanted this service when I upgraded iTunes, not find it on my hard drive.
This question may not belong here, but I can't see it answerable in the Windows items.

Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) is for iPod and iPhone to be recognised by iTunes on Windows. I believe this component was part of iTunes.


If the Apple Mobile Device Service can not be found, but still listed under Add/Remove, it might be the register issue, where the Add/Remove did not record it correctly.
