Postby DJGM » Mon 23 Jun, 2003 5:59 pm

Apple today (23/06/2003) released v1.0 final of their excellent Safari
web browser for Mac OS X, after a few months of public beta testing.

Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

Althought I've just got myself to test it, it is very impressive! The iLife interface (also in QuickTime) is a somehow more interesting than one of the most Mac-interface application... MSIE for Mac.

Hmm... It does not understand all the standard CSS used in SillyDog701. I need to do some changes.

Guys, I found one problem with Safari...
No indication of secured page, where is the padlock? How do I know I am in the encrypted page, by looking at the Location bar carefully to see if it is http://blahblah or https://blahblah ??

Second problem, when I typed "http://www.netscape.com/", it will be changed to "http://www.netscape.com/apple.adp"

Recall from my memory, this happened with Netscape Communicator for Mac, but it does not happen with MSIE (Mac)

There is a small indication about secured/encryped connections...
The padlock is on the top-right corner of the window (matel-brush), not very noticable, just in plain colour.
