Everything had been going well till, about, two or three months ago, when updates failed, when I tried to do them manually. However, the problem stopped when I set to have been done automatically. I had not noticed that there was a two hour span to do the updates. Then, last Friday, it failed, automatically. I was able to update the definitions, but not the program, about 5.0 MB worth of it.
I went to the newsgroup, where I was asked to upload some diagnostics, some of which could not be uploaded.
Finally, I decided to download the latest executable, and selected to do a repair. Believe it or not, it updated the program, and, today, the daily update succeeded, automatically.
Just, should anyone have AVG, and run into such issue. Interestingly, I wasted several hours trying to go the plodding way, and did the program update, in minutes.
