Three nights ago, when I was done using it for the day, the battery level was at only 3%, and I instictively put it to sleep and left it overnight.
The next day, I carried my iBook with me to the library (which I do almost daily) and found that it would not start even with the AC adapter plugged in.
When pressing the power button, almost nothing occurred except for the sound of a blowing fan. Nothing at all would appear on the display; there were no sounds (although I had installed software earlier that disabled the startup sound). I tried quite a few key combinations, but nothing could make the computer boot or even display anything on-screen.
Later, I charged the battery to maximum capacity to see if that would solve the problem, but the iBook still would not work.
Once the computer is "on;" I found the power button and keys unresponsive; I could stop the fan sound only by unplugging the AC adapter and removing the battery.
I tried booting from the Install and Restore disc included with the Mac; all that resulted is that I now have an Install and Restore disc stuck in the CD-ROM drive. (The eject key doesn't do a thing).
So now I have a seemingly non-functional Mac laptop, and I'm back to using a desktop computer with Windows 95.
What could possibly be wrong with my computer, and how could it be fixed? It is under warranty.
