browse page turns pencil thin

Postby tbrownold@cybertrails.com » Fri 20 Dec, 2002 10:39 pm

For some unkown reason my browser pages are now a vertical pencil line no bigger than an inch on the 17" monitor. Why? I can not get my netscape 7.0 to get beyond this annoying anomaly. Any suggestion to remedy this would be great. Should I upload the new version 7.01? Will I loose my bookmarks and addresses to that process? Thank you for your help.

I am not able to give a solution to your browser width problem; however, you should give a bit more info so others here might be able to help you. Had Netscape 7.00 already been installed for a while before this problem occurred? Did you just change any setting or install any new software before this problem was seen?

To your second question: You may always uninstall any version of Netscape without any loss of personal information, such as E-mail and bookmarks. This personal info is stored in a "profile." The profile is located in an entirely different location than the program. I am not sure where that location is on Apple-type operating systems. So, you should be able to uninstall 7.00 and install 7.01 with no loss of data.

If your problem is with your profile, others on this forum should be able to offer advice.

Pencil thin page

Postby tbrownold » Sat 21 Dec, 2002 4:17 pm

I recently changed the OS from Mac 9.1 to 10.1.2. The program was running smoothly for months then, I clicked on the close buttton. That is when the problem occured. I have since been uploading new versions of the program thinking that a fresh install would help but... No. I think that there is some problem with OSX.1.2 because the version on OS9 works fine.
