Browser for old Computer

Postby Glen » Mon 18 Nov, 2002 12:01 am

A Pentium 200 with 32mb of ram - I realise the best choice is Communicator 4.x

I have copies of 4.72 Professional and 4.8, so I install 4.72 then 4.8 - But is it worth installing 4.0x first to get Netcaster?

I do not know what is the advantage of Netcaster, but I had 4.08 till recently, and it behaved quite well, no javascript errors.

When I had a Pentium 100, I used Netscape 6.1. I think if you download Netscape 6, or 7(I think so). You'ill have a good Internet. :P

I even had NS6 on a 75, but it is necessary to have more memory(RAM) to run a 6/7. And, again, do you need Netcaster?

What's up with Netcaster?

Postby jksteinhauer » Wed 20 Nov, 2002 10:37 pm

I agree. What's the importance of seeing Netscaster? It's like trying to tune into a radio station from 20 years ago that's no longer broadcasting, unless you're just feeling nostalgic and want to refresh your memory as to what it looks like ...
4.08's still amazing, I revert back to it occasionally, only problem is - I have My Netscape set as home page, after it loads completely it automatically reloads again - just My Netscape page. What's up with that? Just curious ...
