Calender

Postby jksteinhauer » Thu 28 Nov, 2002 2:17 pm

Firstly, is there any real possibilty Netscape 7.x will incorporate calender eventually? I know they are dabbling with it w/ Moz 1.2 as an optional install right now - it looks very similar to the Communicator calender that I found to be very useful. I've tried several calender softwares - the Netscape version was the one I always came back to for ease of use.
Secondly, I revert back to Communicator periodically - previously I had 4.8 installed but read here that I could also incorporate calender from 4.72 into 4.8 by installing 4.72 first and then add 4.8. Question: do I install 4.8 on top of 4.72 or do I uninstall 4.72 first, then install 4.8?

I doubt the Mozilla calendar will ship with Netscape 7.0x - it doesn't even ship with Mozilla by default yet (<rumour>maybe 1.3</rumour>).

As for the 4.x one, Install 4.72 then 4.8 over the top of it.

Do not uninstall Communicator 4.72
OR if you are the lucky, you might have Netscape Communicator 4.79 with Calendar, a special release from SillyDog701.

If you indeed only want the calender component on 4.72 Professional - You can follow the steps on Ramona's Nescape Solutions to make AIM an optional component - then deselect everything bar Calendar - and use a newer browser like Netscape 7.

Yep Anthony. Had that install, power box on computer caught fire one afternoon (luckily I was home when it happened) by the time I pulled the plug it had fried my motherboard. Since then 4.79 w/calender was pulled.
I've installed 4.72/4.8 - calender's working fine for me now - thanks guys.
