Wellander,
Add a user to the Windows 2000 machine, with at least power user access, e.g. username is 'Joe' and password is 'qwerty', now go and logon to your 98 machine with the login you created on the Windows 2000 machine. In order to access files off of a Win2k machine, the user needs a login name on the machine, for authentication and security purposes. This is not the case if they are connected to an NT domain, as any user that is logged on to the domain will be granted read-only access to files on any network shares in the network, unless the machine with the network share is configured to allow full access.
All Users only one that is is an administrator.
The problem I am having is it is asking me for a password that I did not setup.
I tried the password that I use to log onto my computer and that does not work.
Does that help?
