better way, set your Norton Internet Security to allow security connection, enable port 443.
Norton Internet Security is a kind of firewall.

Quick solution, disable Norton Internet Security when you need to access to your online banking.

Are you the main people using that computer?
Did someone set up the Norton Internet Security and added a password to it?

it's my computer... my old roomate used it sometimes. it's just a house computer.

i don't even see how to log in to the program to access it! re-starting doesn't change anything. it just tells me that i don't have supervisor access, but I can't figure out how to get it. if i can find a place to enter a password, i'm sure i know it.

See what you have in Start|Set Program Access and Defaults.
As for logging in, Start| Control Panel|User Accounts.

See if this helps: Cannot access or log on to secure Web sites with Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall

I also found the following in my own notes, in case it helps:

4/8/2004 Trying to disable Norton Internet Security, I logged off the Supervisor account, couldn’t figure how to log back on since there was a password box, and I didn’t have a password. Later figured out I didn’t need a password so I just left it blank. Anyway, I thought I remembered a problem if you only had one account (Supervisor) so I created a user account for Alice. First I had to choose a Password for Supervisor. Chose xxxxx (same as Admin account for Win XP). Then I Created Alice account with a different password, xxxxxxx.
