Can 'WIN2K cluster service' share MAC folders?

Postby Time4aPint » Fri 28 Mar, 2003 9:29 am

Hello,

I set up a cluster on two Windows 2000 Advanced servers. I want to make this cluster a high availability File Server. I need to serve the same files to PCs and MACs. I don't know how I can have MACs see the files that are shared through Cluster Administrator.

I tried to create a Mac accessible share through Computer Manager. Then, I shared the same folder through the Cluster Administrator. I went to a MAC and I could not see the Cluster name in Chooser, so I typed in the Cluster IP address. It told me that I was connecting to the node name, not the cluster name, but I was able to connect. As a test, I moved the cluster resources over to the other node, but the connection on the MAC was terminated (as I feared).

Is it possible to do what I want, or am I out of luck?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!
