Cant clear searched addresses

I can't seem to clear the address bar of previously visited sites. I tried working with the "History" prefrences but with no luck. I set it clear upon exit and not save any addresses typed in the address bar. Can anyone help with this.??

I fiddled with all settings to no avail. There is nothing like in Firefox, that I can find. I guess you mean to clear the location bar dropdown.
I downloaded 9.0.1, and the location bar got cleared. I still don't understand this thing.
By the way, all tools|preferences are reset on upgrading.
