Code-Application for Embedded Audio in Netscape Pages

Postby FrankoSport » Fri 26 Nov, 2004 12:58 pm

Greetings ...

Many years ago -- in the Netscape 4.80-and-older-version era -- I had created a web page with embedded audio (WAV file). I could get it to work in MS-IE but not in Netscape.

I'm now thinking of trying that again, but I'm wondering if the codes and plug-in procedures have changed.

Can someone please show me the complete code, plus advise me in which plug-ins and Helper Application settings will work best for Netscape and other browsers?

Some ways to embed sound in a document are to use the common [tt]<EMBED>[/tt] tag or more standards-complient [tt]<OBJECT>[/tt] tag. You may also need to install an appropriate plugin (such as QuickTime) to hear embedded sound on Netscape or Mozilla browsers.

I would recommend reviewing the content in these threads for more relevant information:
sound tags
Netscape 7.1 and Midi sound
