Command line switch to override prefs.js w/ another js file?

Postby David Wonn » Tue 01 Feb, 2005 2:06 pm

I am looking for a command line switch, if it exists, to override the prefs.js file with an alternate file. I would prefer to do this without the overhead of creating a separate profile if possible. Basically, I would have one shortcut to Communicator that uses the settings in prefs.js and another shortcut that uses settings from a different file. I have tried using the -i switch with no success (although it works fine in Navigator 3.x.) Any suggestions?

I never tried the command switch, but in Netscape6/7 it is possible to override the prefs.js command by creating a user.js file, into which yopu may want to enter whatever pref you feel that it should be changed to. It works automatically, and I have had occasions to use the feature. But, I have never tried it in 4.x.
