Cool looking PC, or Apple Mac rip off . . . ?

Postby DJGM » Sat 23 Aug, 2003 4:10 pm

Take a look at this PC. It's one of the latest machines from popular PC manufacturer, Packard Bell.

Do you think it's a cool looking PC, or just a complete and utter Macintosh rip off? IMO, it's a
total Mac rip off, combining the looks of the flat panel iMac, with the high end Power Macs.

But, what's your opinion . . . would you want one of these, or a real Macintosh?

More information about this machine on the Packard Bell website.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

I hope the product quality for Packard Bell in the rest of the world is better than it was in the US. Packard Bell's products in the US were junk, and the company (in the US) mercifully went bankrupt. The product name seems to have no current presence in the US aside from old parts and broken systems.

My first PC was a Nec. Complete set including monitor cost me $3,978. in 1996.
I accidently broke the floppy drive. A piece of metal from a floppy disk came off and stayed in the floppy drive. I didn't know and kept trying to get it to work and then decided to take it apart.
That's when I discovered the metal inside the drive.
I repaired it myself with a generic floppy drive.

I searched and travelled all over the Net looking for a new or used Floppy drive but I was unable to find one on the Net or where I live.

I heard at that time that PACKARD BELL made the parts for NEC. I don't know if it is true or not, but I was told many times that the reason I was unable to find a part for my NEC PC was that Packard Bell went bankrupt.

The IEXTREME sure does look nice tho'

That Mach 3.8 desktop seems pretty amazing.
No harddrive all flash ram...that thing must fly.
Doesn't look like a Mac though.
The one at the top of this poll does.
