Determining Safari 1.0 vs 1.1 from user agent string

Postby duc_pham » Wed 18 Feb, 2004 6:23 pm

Any one know how to distinguish which Safari version is which? From the user agent string, I know that the version number is followed after "Safari". However, getting a version number "85" really doesn't tell me if it's version 1.1 or 1.0 and I can not find any official documentation pertaining to this.
UserAgent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; fisg IE 6.0 SP1 (FID r2.0); .NET CLR 1.0.3705)

According our UserAgent string thread,
Safari 1.0 has "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/85.7 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/85" string
Safari 1.1 has "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/103u (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/100" string

the number (85) indicate build numbers.

AFAIK, Safari 1.1 was bundled with Mac OS X v10.3, but not offered as seperate download.
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113
SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!
