Doomsday for internet!

Postby Antony » Sun 08 Jul, 2012 11:47 pm

I admit that I did not notice this interesting "doomsday" for internet earlier. Apparently, there's a virus that was installed a year ago which will bring down internet today.

The malware lets the hackers control the DNS – the system which lets users access the internet and send email – for criminal activities including fraud.

US and Estonian authorities have been working on the problem since last November, with the FBI arranging temporary control of the infected servers to let users keep accessing the web.

Only 4 million users they estimate are at risk. Thankfully thet caught and jailed those who perpetrated it.

How disappointing, we aren't going to see the "doomsday."

BTW, apparently, the next doomsday is scheduled on 21st December 2012. Also, nature disasters seem to be more frequent and more intense in recent years, unless you are lucky enough to live in Don's beautiful Boston which is known to be a natural disaster free zone - no bush fire danger, not in cyclone path, and not earthquake prone area.

Don's picturesque Quincey is hermetically sealed like an Apple piece of hardware against all manner of natural disaster. :)

That's very true. Except Don might be devastated by the Apple device analogy.
