Netscape 7 download

Postby richg » Tue 03 Dec, 2002 10:16 am

I want to download Netscape 7 and save it to a CD-R. I have downloaded 7 sucessfully but it is configured automatically. I have cable modem and my daughter has a dialup modem. I know from experience that I never was able to download Netscape sucessfully when I had a dialup connection. It took forever and something always went wrong. I do not have a credit card so I cannot order a CD online. Is this possible? Thank you.

It is a good idea to have the program on CD, if there is a dial-up connection, because it takes a lot of time.
I do not see any reason not to burn a CD, as long as your CD burner has some basic software.
What do you mean by automatic configuration, and what are you referring to when you say:" Is this possible?"

I revised my reply, leaving out a lot of unnecessary asides.
Now I will go to burn a CD, and see if there is anything which you may need to know.

As a follow up. I burned a CD, to which I added several Netscape 7.0 and Mozillas. Then, I removed one of my programs. After that I placed the newly "burnt" CD in my CD player, and context-clicked (right clicked) on the icon of the desired file, and selected Copy. And, then I selected Paste in an empty area of a folder. I,then, double clicked on the icon of the copied file, and began the installation. All went well, and I have now a fresh installation
This was done just to prove that I had a good file.
