Drivers License Photo Dispute

Old thread, but here's the latest development here in NSW. In New South Wales, Police now has new power to request drivers to show their faces, if covered by helmet, face veil, burqas, or any other facial covering.

This was caused by a Sydney woman who was stopped by police, she then made a false claim that police forced her to remove her burqa. Later, the police's video showed the accusation (against police) was completely false.

I guess that means that the U.S. Judge was right in finding that
the woman would have to have her picture taken without the Burka.
I think the Judge was right, and the Poll indicates it.

Also we have some very intelligent people that hang around Silly Dog.
You can find an answer to anything here.

Some people will do anything for publicity. This woman that didn't
want to remove her Burka was wrong and not following
rules and regulations to get her Drivers License.

Before 9/11 I don't believe I ever heard of, or saw a woman wearing
a Burka, Hijab, Niqab or any type of VEIL over their face while driving
or for that matter walking on the street.

That's very true, except, there are a number of people putting the religion first.

Religion is a choice in some countries, but not all.
If you want to practice your religion in a country where it is against
the law to have your face covered anytime, you can always go back to
your own country where it is allowed. But you probably can't drive there.

So I have no sympathy for people that come to a new country, of their
choice, and decide they will not follow rules and regulations or laws.

I don't have a problem with immigrants, most don't like to make a spectacle
of themselves, they just want to work, live in peace where their children
can get an education and become citizens of their newly found country.
