The problem is solved and I still not sure what caused it. I got the mail server error msg. and then my norton virus screwed up. I got in safe mode and couldn't get out!! I went to my extended warranty folks and with msconfig and startup it was cleared up for me. I removed Norton and reinstalled it and it's working ok now. Thanks for your reply. It depends on which version Norton you have. A few years ago, it tended to delete the entire NS mail box. I had bought it, and was able to return it, on account of this. They fixed that problem, but Norton has cause problems to Netscape Mail, and that's why I do not like to have powerful AV to scan my mail, which is unnecessary with Netscape.
Check your Norton settings. I bet that if Netscape is not set to scan that you could have recovered. If they are set now, and everything works, great, but if the problem reoccur uncheck that setting. I don't know how screwed up was your NAV, but it can be dangerous.
