Emoticons not placed at curser position when composing!?

Postby Amrad » Thu 24 Jun, 2004 7:31 pm

When I quote a messaqe in my reply to it and attempt to place an emoticon anwhere within the text, it's positioned at the very end of all the text, not at the location of the cursor (unles that happens to also be at the end of all the text!), also, the display in the edit window goes back to the start of the message.

Is this normal or should the emoticon be placed at the cursor position and the display in the edit window remain at its current position?

Regards,

Dave.

It would be better if the emoticon can be placed at the cursor potition. However, I don't think the current web technology is able to handle that without a complicated interface and lots of JavaScript codes.

Hello Antony,

Thanks for your reply.

I take it, then, the the emoticon positioning behaviour I'm experiencing is correct?

It's a pity if it can't easily be made to position at the cursor, rather than the end of the text. :(

Yes.
Once your are familiar with the emoticons, you can just type them by yourself.
