FF13 "pinning" sites to start page by default. Not good

Postby richard mitnick » Thu 07 Jun, 2012 2:23 pm

Does anyone know how to stop FF13 from "pinning" sites to a page? Chrome "pins" the highest volume eight. Fine, eight. FF, to be different, pins everything from the last five years, and they do not show up until one starts a second tab.

I need to get rid of this if anyone can help.

Richard,

Greetings, I am not real sure what you mean by "pinning" - could you explain a bit ?

Are you are referring to the display of several screenshots of previous pages when you open a NEWTAB.....

take a look at about: config - filter on:
newtab ....
there are a couple of entries that may be of some interest.......

Also in the upper right corner of the "newtab" page is a small square ( may be dependent on theme) that seems to turn off the screenshots....

Note to self........
Duh........Read the help file..........
filter on "pinning newtabs"

Thanks, I got very fast exact help at Mozillazine, in about:config, a change to one line did the trick. Some things should not be turned on by default, should be optional configurations in Tools|Options.
