Keith,

You have to realize that Firefox is a standalone application, unlike Netscape, Mozilla, and Opera. When it all comes down to it, the choice is really about how much browser you need. If you don't need a mail client/all that stuff then Firefox is the way to go. If you do, then Mozilla or Netscape is the way to go. And if you're a functionality guru, there's Opera.

Also, you have to take into account the speed factor. Firefox and Opera load faster than Mozilla/Netscape becuase Mozilla/Netscape are written entirely in XUL. Even though Firefox is written in XUL, it still loads faster because it's a standalone app. If your computer is too old to cooperate with XUL (sub-166MHz) then something written in a native language like Opera is the best way to go.

dluchini30, I just made the switch last night, on my ME machine. I put on Firefox 1.0. I have noticed a speed difference between firefox and IE. I took your advice, and since i don't need mail client or anything like that, and speed is more important to me, i went with firefox 1.0, and so far i'm lovin it!

Keith.

There is no need for CCK with the Mozilla products, since they are Open Source. Netscape, which has propriatory stuff needs a CCK. You can be a developer, and go for it.
