In Firefox 2.0.0.1 it seems that Compact Menu doesn`t working anymore.
When pressing Menu, the dropdown menu shows itself, but File, Edit, View, etc. options are not expanding themselves.
Does anyboby of you know, which is the most recent version of it?

Not real clear on the compact menu thing. 2.0.0.1 IS most recent firefox afaik and all my drop downs are dropping and expansions are expanding. At any rate, I think the above should be a separate thread?

You can either download Compact Menu and unzip it (change .xpi to.zip) and edit the install.rdf (be sure to rename it to install.txt) file, find maxVersion and change it to 3.0 or you can get another one like it called TinyMenus or Personal Menu. Both are on AMO.

When I saw Gregor's post, my first reaction was:"what compact menu". I am familiar with it, and it is default in K-Ninja, but I have never heard of one such thing in Firefox. Thank you Al.

Windows Media Player and Firefox 2.0

Postby LucyVan582 » Sun 21 Jan, 2007 11:59 am

I have never been able to get Windows Media Player to work with Firefox 1.5. Will it work with 2.0?

In 1.5 I get a message that Windows Media Player can't be found when I try to play a video from the browser. I do have the most up to date WMP and it works with IE, which I hate, but not with Firefox. I REALLY want to get it to work with FF!!

I don't know how this would work, since I have been carrying settings since earlier Netscape and Mozillas. In first place, the npsdplay.dll file should be present in the Plugins folder. Also, typing about:config in the URL box should give you a list of all plugins in Firefox. Finally, I never even bother with that since I have the Mediaplayerconnectivity extention. With it most sites with embedded players will open the external player, if the extention is properly set up. The sound and the video has been vastly superior. A few sites don't work because they use, also, ActiveX, and, will not open the external player, even with the Active X plugin, but I have other ways to deal with them.
By the way, you posted elsewhere, I mentioned my fix. Did you get things working? I can't tell since the posts were at more or less the same time.
